Professional-Managerial Class

A.K.A.: "PMC". If we imagine a world of capitalists and workers, the PMC are the class of people who either manage or instruct the workers to do the capitalists' bidding. The PMC are themselves wage earners who exploit the labor of the workers on behalf of the capitalists. As such, those belonging to the PMC live in a constant state of precarity about their class position.

This term was coined by Barbara and John Ehrenreich's seminal essay in the March-April 1977 issue of Radical America.
